Raise your hand if you are still interested

I have been much busier that I had expected when I first proposed this game. It is still a good idea if I have some players. Anyone that is still interested, please let me know and I will see about getting the ball rolling.

Can We Get a Baseline?

Keef, can you give us an idea where you want vital stats? Points of your best attack, average speed, that kind of thing? 300 points goes nowhere fast.

Limited Access Villain Blogs Created

I have created several limited access blogs for the villain players. Only the villain player and I will have access.

The first two have been assigned to Dave Altz and Bruce Paulson.

Web Page to Support Champions PBB Game

I will be publishing materials related to the game at http://sites.google.com/site/zombiehomepage/Home/zombie-s-champions-page/champions-play-by-blog

I am willing to host characters sheets, origins, game notes etc.

We have Six Heroes

We now have six players that will act as heroes. The hero players are:

Bruce Paulson
Christian Klaver
Dave Altz
Dave Brenner
Dave Morgan
Jeff Hoffmaster

Dave Altz and Bruce Paulson have also volunteered to play villains too. I expect this list to grow.

I will work next on completing the Play-By-Blog rules. I plan to use the ones I created for the Pathfinder game but update them to Champions and add a section for villains. I hope to have these completed in the next week or so.

The next step from the player perspective is to create your character(s). Let's start with character concepts and names. After that we can work out the points and the game specifics. I will be mailing out copies of the Hero System 6th Edition to Dave Morgan and Dave Brenner this week. Once they receive them, everyone should have a copy of the rules.

The next step from my perspective is to create the world background materials and share them with you. I will be working on this during December. I have a little bit now to get you thinking.

You will be members of the Great Lakes Guardians, a superhero team based in Millennium City (located on the site that was once Detroit). You are the new members replacing the founding team who have retired. The Press has dubbed you the "New Guard". You have a base called the Garrison located along the Detroit River.

The "Old Guard" consisted of:

Guardsman – Team founder. Tactician and scrapper that uses shield and baton.
Cricket - Shrinker and technician
Calvary- Duplicator
Armory - Brick
Diva – Sonic blaster

Let me know if you have any questions.

I Had Another Idea

I started a Pathfinder Play-by-blog game back in March. Mostly it has been a success. Inspired by my new Hero System 6th Edition rule books that came in the mail today, I am interested in trying to expand the concept to Champions.

Here is what I am thinking. I am offering three ways to participate:

1) Play a hero – be one of up to six regular players of the campaign. You would create a character and play it on every turn. I am thinking around 300 pts and 100 pts of complications

2) Play a villain – be one or more of the significant villains of the campaign. You would create a character and play turns whenever your villain’s storyline caused them to make an appearance. You will also be able to advance your plots and goals through e-mail. I am thinking around 500 pts and 150 pts of complications. Use the extra points to make a villain to take on the group or make them similar in power but buy followers, a vehicle and/or a base. There is no upper limit of players for this option. Ideal for folks that do not want to make the daily commitment or just like being the bad guy.

3) Play a hero and a villain – You can do both. You could play your hero and his own hunted (or someone else’s). Play both sides of the fence and get the most participation.

I have set up a new blog at http://pbbchampionsgame.blogspot.com/

I will work out the modified play-by-blog rules and the campaign background over the next few weeks. I will also create a new web page dedicated to the game off of my web site http://sites.google.com/site/zombiehomepage/. I will use it to host character sheets, the play-by-blog rules and any game related material.

I think that I may try to run the new 6th edition rules. If anyone needs a copy, let me know. I will be looking for ways to streamline the game play to allow for processing actions in a timely manner. As I am currently envisioning, I expect that a 12 segment combat will take about two weeks to process.

If you are interested, please let me know and tell me which option you are interested in. I plan to keep the heroes to a group of six. I would like them to be heroes, not anti-heroes, dark avengers or monsters. Villains can run the gambit from greedy mercenary to homicidal clown. Once you have a character concept, we can work on your character(s).
